In the building shared by the Kazán Community House and the Gólya Cooperative in the 8th District of Budapest, we have created an energy community together with dozens of organizations. A 36 kWp solar panel system has been installed on the roof. The income generated by its energy production will be used to form an energy community fund.
We plan to use the fund to make energy-efficiency investments in the building. Strategic decisions will be made democratically, together with the members of the energy community. In response to the energy crisis, we have reduced the building’s energy consumption for heating by nearly half through joint conservation measures.
The community solar project was supported by MKKP’s fund and our community donors, for which we thank them, initially as part of the Community Energy Service Collaborative.
